Operation Sea Lion 1940 is a turn based strategy game set on the southern part of the United Kingdom during the Second World War. From Joni Nuutinen: by a wargamer for the wargamers since 2011.You are in command of the German landing forces attempting to -- against all the odds -- invade the United Kingdom by crossing the English Channel. The campaign is a logistic struggle to keep enough supplies flowing, in spite of the growing British Naval supremacy, to give German Army a fighting chance.FEATURES:+ Historical accuracy: Campaign mirrors the historical setup.+ Long-lasting: Thanks to in-built variation and the games smart AI technology, each game provides a unique war gaming experience.+ Competitive: Measure your strategy game skills against others fighting for the Hall of Fame top spots.+ Supports casual play: Easy to pick up, leave off, continue later.+ Good AI: Instead of just attacking on direct line towards the target, the AI opponent balances between strategic goals and smaller tasks like encircling nearby units.+ Settings: Various options are available to alter the look of the gaming experience: Change difficulty level, hexagon size, Animation speed, choose icon set for units (NATO or REAL) and cities (Round, Shield, Square, block of houses), decide what is drawn on the map, and much more.+ Tablet friendly strategy game: Automatically scales the map for any physical screen size/resolution from small smartphones to HD tablets, while settings allow you to fine tune hexagon and font sizes.+ Inexpensive: The classic strategy game campaign for a cup of coffee! In order to be a victorious general, you must learn to coordinate your attacks in two ways. First, as adjacent units give support to an attacking unit, keep your units in groups in order to gain local superiority. Secondly, it is rarely the best idea to use brute force when it is possible to encircle the enemy and cut off its supply lines instead.Join your fellow strategy gamers in changing the course of the Second World War!Privacy Policy (full text on website and app menu): No account creation is possible, the made-up username used in the Hall of Fame listings is not tied to any account and does not have password. Location, personal, or device identifier data is not used in any way. In the case of crash the following non-personal data is sent (vie web-form using ACRA library) to allow quick fix: Stack trace (code which failed), Name of the App, Version number of the App, and Version number of the Android OS. The app only requests the permissions it needs to function.Conflict-Series by Joni Nuutinen has offered highly rated Android-only strategy board games since 2011, and even the first scenarios are still actively updated. The campaigns are based on the time-tested gaming mechanics TBS (turn-based strategy) enthusiasts are familiar with from both the classic PC war games and legendary tabletop board games. I want to thank the fans for all the well thought-out suggestions over the years which have allowed these campaigns to improve at a much higher rate than what any solo indie developer could dream of. If you have advice on how to improve this board game series please use email, this way we can have a constructive back and forth chat without the limits of the stores comment system. In addition, because I have huge number of projects on multiple stores, it’s just not sensible to spend handful of hours each day going through hundreds of pages spread all over the Internet to see if there is a question somewhere -- just send me an email and I will get back to you. Thanks for understanding!+ Minefields requested by Generals/Commanders now arrive with one turn delay+ Assigning replacements (+1 HP) to a unit is a bit easier (3 adjacent enemy hexagons allowed, but the severity of enemy-blocks-replacements depends on the Difficulty Level+ HOF relocated to web (see dev-log for details)+ Setting: HOF: Send scores to online database (ON/OFF switch)+ Setting: Turn major developer alerts ON/OFF+ AI: Improvements in front line coherence+ Fix: Supply merge towards Isle of Wight

Great Avalon Hill style solo game, after reading a couple Sea Lion books recently finding this game was a perfect companion and after 2 tries I managed to win.

I have played many of Joni's games. They take me back to long days with the Avalon Hill classics. First time I tried Sea Lion I thought it was close to impossible. Let me just say that you are pretty likely to hit some tight supply situations and if you are not managing the naval side well, you are in for some pain! this time around I got it right and was able to manage a successful campaign. Thanks, Joni. I bought a better Android device just to play your games. Wish some of the $ went your way.

Out of all Nuutinen's games, this is my favorite. Simulates air, sea and land operations without onerous rules or bookkeeping. Playability is high and even has difficulty levels so you can play an AI that definitely ate its Wheaties! Playing on Very Hard setting now and it is living up to its name. Fascinating historical "what if" and a great game to simulate it.

Good land battles and landing invasion. But, where's the german luftwaffe support the germans had planned to invade England. Airfields you capture are useless without planes. With luftwaffe support it would make life a bite easier. Also more destroyers are needed to combat the British navy. Just six ship? Yay, they don't last long against a naval forces that outnumber your navel force.

Again, another game I will have to delete because I feel the balance is just plain wrong and frustrating. Not up to his best work and I really do not like the direction he is taking. I will keep a eye on what he continues to produce, but I guess he just cannot please everyone all the time!

This simulated 'what if' scenario is another superb game from a developer who has achieved an excellent balance of playability and authenticity. I imagine many strategy fans who are used to flashy graphics and pinch and zoom interfaces will but be put with the basic 2d interface on the screenshots and get no further. However what is important in a game? If you judge playability and authenticity above fancy graphics and modern interfaces, then look no further. Furthermore, the rest of this developers apps use the same engine, and broadly the same system bar a few scenario specific differences here and there, so you can get another app and be up and running immediately. Definitely recommended for serious wargamers.

Just got this and played one. Awesome mechanics. More detailed than Joni's other games, but still intuitive and easy to learn.

I have managed to capture England once so far. Great game.

Thanks once again, Joni. The supply feature is an extra challenge and a great touch.

Highly recommended; easy to pick up the game mechanics but challenging to master, there is a reason that Joni is a successful developer. The sea lane protection element is another challenge to keeping your units supplied and reinforcements coming. Really fun, enjoyable time suck.
